Customizable watch list

A watch list in your trading interface is important so that you can put only the most needed stocks / contracts on your main screen. A watch list is normally a set of stocks that you want to keep a real-time tab on. Normally, when you invest, you do not need to look at the stock prices on a real time basis. But in times of high volatility or when the stock is approaching your price target, it does make sense to keep a real-time tab on the stock price. CashCow not only provides the leeway to create a watch list within the trading interface, but it also provides you the benefit of customising the watch list. You can actually create combinations and permutations in such a way that you can actually get a one-shot view of the key parameters you are looking at.

Customizable watch list and price alerts…

CashCow actually goes one step further. Not only can you set up a watch list on your preferred stocks or some key stocks in your portfolio but you can also set up alerts. These can be price or volume alerts. For example, a stock owed by you may be nearing its target price for profit booking. You may not be in front of your mobile screen all the time, so you can also set an alert to intimate you the moment the price target is achieved. Alternatively, you may have an entry price target to buy a stock that you have had on your watch list for a long time. Here again you can include the stock in your customized watch list and also set alerts to intimate you.

Creating cash / futures / options combinations on your watch list…

One of the ways to use the watch list creatively is to customise it by combining stocks and futures. For example you can create a watch list with Reliance and Reliance Futures and also set an alert to intimate you when the annualized arbitrage spread crosses 15%. Alternatively, you can set up a watch list with equities and calls or put options. This can set alerts about when to protect using puts or when to reduce your cost of holdings using call options. CashCow offers you all these options under one screen itself. Remember, all these facilities come to you despite the CashCow being a zero brokerage product.

Creating cross linkages between equity and commodities…

One of the other advantages of the customizable watch list is that you can combine equities and other asset classes like commodities and currencies to get smart trading cues. For example, Titan stock may be linked to the price of gold, ONGC stock price is linked to the price of crude oil while HCL Tech may be linked to the rupee/dollar equation. The CashCow customizable watch list allows you to make these cross-asset combinations and use one asset class to give an alert for action on another asset class. That is what makes the CashCow watch list relatively unique!
